is the founder and director of the Tahrir Lounge project Goethe Cairo, Egypt, an awareness building platform, which is working with civil society and youth led initiatives to develop awareness and support women and youth through workshops, seminars, youth camps and other activities related to democratic transformation , freedom of expression and human rights. Previously Shahien has worked in media, communication and marketing, as a journalist and a researcher since her graduation from the faculty of Mass communication in 2006.

هي مؤسس ومدير مشروع “قاعة التحرير” جوته القاهرة، مصر، منصة بناء الوعي، والتي تعمل مع المجتمع المدني والشباب بقيادة المبادرات لتطوير الوعي ودعم المرأة والشباب من خلال ورش العمل والندوات ومعسكرات الشباب والأنشطة الأخرى المتعلقة بالتحول الديمقراطي وحرية التعبير وحقوق الإنسان. سابقا عملت شاهين في الإعلام والتواصل والتسويق، كصحفية وباحثة منذ تخرجها من كلية الإعلام عام 2006.


Tahrir Lounge

Tahrir Lounge is one of the Goethe institute projects in Cairo, it aims at helping youth to discover their talents, and improving their creativity to contribute to the change for better future, through conducting various activities in different fields. In addition the project is supporting youth initiatives and dynamic student activities which is seeking to play positive and active role in the society. Tahrir Lounge is a neutral project and all its activities are supported by German foreign office. The project works under the umbrella of the cultural agreement between Egypt and Germany.
